How are Canadian Customs and Canadian Customs Brokers operations affected by the Civic Holiday?
Canadian Customs operations fall under the responsibility of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). All Canadian border crossings remain open on Holidays in Canada. However some inland border offices are closed or offer reduced services.
Some Canadian customs brokers may or may not be open on Monday’s Civic Holiday. Some customs brokers may also charge after hour service fees for preparing and presenting customs release requests to the CBSA on Monday.
Other Canadian customs brokers will operate on reduced staff and only offer basic customs release services at key Canadian ports of entry.
